Charlotte Wren Forget-Me-Not Fund (Charity #219371)- www.beatbloodcancers.org
(Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research)
Leukaemia & Lymphoma (LLR) was founded in Middlesbrough in 1960, we as a family of local fundraisers set up our Forget-Me-Not Fund, in loving memory of our three year old daughter Charlotte in 2007. This is to help ‘make a difference’ for little people fighting blood cancers by funding breakthroughs in research and improvements into treatments that are less invasive, less painful and ultimately to find that elusive cure for all!
We have raised over £67,000 that is being invested into research within the Northern Institute for Childhood Cancer Research, Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle where Every Penny Does Count, as LLR have invested a fantastic £8 million this year alone, into pioneering North East blood cancer research.
All donations are really appreciated and we hope that if you run for us you can raise a maximum of £100. An official LLR T-Shirt, with Sponsorship Form and lots of encouragement will be provided to aid your sponsorship efforts to reach this goal.
If you are interested in running for us then please contact Mike & Claire Wren: m.c.wren@talktalk.net

The Yorkshire Regiment is the ‘local’ regiment for Middlesbrough and recruits heavily from the town and Teesside area. The 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, known for hundreds of years as the Green Howards, was formed in 1688 and has a valiant history. A year long partnership between Middlesbrough Council and the Yorkshire Regiment has been launched to highlight the pride the town has in the regiment and raise funds for the Yorkshire Regiment Benevolent Fund. This Fund supports soldiers and their families who are discharged from the army.
Every serving officer and soldier in the Regiment makes a contribution of one day’s pay per year towards the Yorkshire Benevolence Fund, as well as participating in events and challenges to raise fund for this Charity. Over the last four years the fund has helped well over a 1000 serving and ex-soldiers, granting in excess of £300,000, giving an average of £300.00 to every deserving case that is reported.
Representatives from the regiment will participate in the 10k and the 5k events as well as assisting with Marshalling.

The Puffin Appeal has been set up by Dr Spencer to create a world- class childhood respiratory unit in the North of England and to care for youngsters with Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma and other Lung Diseases.
